The Mains of Monaltrie is available for self-catering rental between April and October. Sleeping six guests in three bedrooms, the house is suitable for some persons with disabilities as full facilities are on the main floor. 

All three bedrooms have stunning views sweeping across open fields to the Lochnagar Massif. For your comfort the house is supplied with electric storage heating, two full bathrooms and a main floor cloakroom and an antique oil fired Aga.

The Kitchen

The spacious, bright kitchen has a very large octagonal wooden dining table and: 

  • Antique, oil fired Aga cooker

  • Electric cooker with separate grill 

  • Dishwasher 

  • Fridge-freezer combination 

  • Microwave oven 

  • Kenwood 'Chef' mixer & Breadmaker 

  • Landline telephone with 'honesty box'.

The Sitting Room

The Sitting Room is next to the Kitchen/Dining room. This is a very cosy room with comfy, old-fashioned furniture, pictures of local interest and an open-hearthed, log burning fire. Small television with standard reception, VCR and DVD players and a selection of video film titles. 

The Sitting Room window faces South across open fields to the Lochnagar Massif's stunning views. The Front door opens to open grassland with a another wonderful southern vista. 

 

The Master Bedroom & Ensuite Bathroom

Master bedroom with period kingsize brass bed, south facing to Lochnagar. Bathroom with antique roll-top bath, basin and wc, en suite to the Master Bedroom. 

Upstairs Bedroom

Upstairs Twin Bedroom, south facing to Lochnagar. 

 

 

 

 

Downstairs Bedroom & Separate Bath

Downstairs Double Bedroom, suitable for some disabled persons, south facing. 

Downstairs bathroom with bath, shower, basin and wc. 

 

 

Other Facilities

The Mains is suitable for some disabled people as the main floor King bedroom is next to the spacious full bath and all main areas are only one step up or down throughout the home. Please contact us for a full description of the floor plan, access points, facilities and an assessment of your needs. 

There is a main floor Cloakroom/Utility Room with a washing machine and separate wc and sink. 

The large attached garage is ideal for children's play, dog accommodation, drying or equipment storage.
